Bio:

Samantha Wayne loves contributing to the growth, creativity, and collaboration of learning communities. Samantha received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Franklin & Marshall College. Her background includes: developing curriculum for unemployed adults learning the importance of networking, facilitating group therapy sessions, teaching Social Psychology at Foothill College, managing after school art programs, and building online youth communities. Samantha finds great inspiration watching educators experiment with new ways to share and expand their brilliant minds.

What are the biggest opportunities for change in education?:

There's great opportunity in fearlessly ditching old rules and engaging in fresh conversations. As in "Dead Poet's Society," stand on your chair and see the classroom from a new perspective. The air is invigorating up there!

What does collaboration mean to you?:

Collaboration means "yes, and." Listening to others and finding magnetic pieces you can stick to and make something even stronger.

What's your most memorable ISKME moment?:

As I set to drive into the sunset (to my "remote" home in Austin), realizing ISKME-ites had bumper-stickered my car with liberal notions sure to get me arrested crossing borders. That, and, the exhillaration that hits after the first day of Big Ideas Fest every year.
